Gradebook Help
Here are some common problems associated with the
gradebook:
- Student does not have a valid
gradebook ID - If you have not received a gradebook ID, or
have lost yours, you need to contact me via WebCT email or in person
during my office hours to receive your code.
- Missing grades - If you
find that an assignment is missing from your listing, contact me so we
can determine why that assignment is not listed and make corrections, if
necessary. You should check the gradebook frequently to make sure
the list of assignments corresponds with your personal list.
- Recent assignments aren't showing up
on the gradebook - Assignment grades are posted to the
gradebook as soon as grading for the assignment has been completed.
The gradebook includes a date that indicates the last time it was
updated from the master database, maintained at my office. The
gradebook always includes all assignments that were graded as of the
posting date, but will not include assignments that had been turned in,
but for which grading was not complete as of the posting date.
- A corrected grade is not showing up as
corrected - Gradebook corrections are made directly in the
database. The gradebook is usually updated when an assignment has
been graded. It is possible that your correction was made, but no
assignments have been graded since that time and, hence, the online
gradebook has not been uploaded to reflect the change made to your
grade. If the posting date of the gradebook (shown on the main
page) is after the correction was made to your grade, please contact me
to make sure that the correction was entered. If the posting date
is prior to the correction being made, it is generally the case that the
correction has been made to the master database, but that the gradebook
has not been uploaded since then to reflect the change.
